Short distance

• Children's rate: children 6th - 15th birthday
• Children: under 6 years free of charge (2 per accompanying person with lap seat, In case of seat occupation a child ticket will be charged).

Bicycle transport is free of charge on the Waldviertelbahn. (Only a limited number of bicycles are possible. Compulsory free bicycle parking reservation at the Infocenter. (only limited number of bicycles possible)

A flat rate of € 5.50 per day is charged for bringing a dog .
(Dog muzzle and leash compulsory!)

The reduced fare applies to the following persons:

• Senior citizens aged 65 and over
• Holders of the Lower Austrian Family Pass
• Passengers with a disability from 70 % (note in the disability pass)
• Group discount from 20 persons (every 21st person free of charge)
• Student group discount from 20 pers. (21st & 22nd pers. free)
• Extra-tariff travel concessions (ATF)
• Holders of the climate ticket.

Further reductions:

• Accompanying disabled person free of charge if noted in the disabled person's passport
• Assistance dog free of charge if noted in the disability passport

Lower Austria Card

Holders of the Niederösterreich CARD can use the Waldviertelbahn free of charge once a year with the NÖ-CARD for a return journey on diesel trains Gmünd-Groß Gerungs plus Gmünd-Litschau. The Niederösterreich CARD is not recognised on steam trains.

Notes

• The Waldviertelbahn's in-house fare applies on the trains
• ÖBB discount offers (e.g.: VorteilsCard, ÖsterreichCard, Einfach-Raus-Ticket, etc.) are not valid.
• No free travel with the KlimaTicket
• Tickets of the transport associations (e.g.: tickets of the autobus or time cards) are not recognised.
